16th  August 2021 – Extended Lockdown

Dear Parents, Guardians and Families,

We would like to thank ‘you’ the community for your support helping slow the spread of COVID-19 during this pandemic by following government protocols and DET guidance. I am sure by now you will be aware the Premier Daniel Andrews has extended the COVID-19 lock down from midnight Thursday the 19th August until the 2nd of September 2021.

Our priority is to ensure the health and safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, families and the community. Whilst the school has yet to have any positive cases of COVID we are in a global pandemic with Victoria being a compromised state now listing 530 exposure sights. This remains a significant concern for the Leadership team, staff and community of Sunshine Special Developmental School.

Tomorrow, Tuesday the 17th of August we will be delivering an additional 2 week hard copy learning at home pack to every student. Our teachers will continue to provide daily home learning including a morning message, English, Mathematics, Science and a specialist activity via Seesaw.

We are confident these structures will continue to support our students to learn at home during the extended lockdown period.

There will be further updates tomorrow after we receive the current Operations Guide from the Department of Education.

Take care and stay safe.

Kind regards,

Nicole Edwardes

Principal
