COVID Update – 2nd June

Dear Parents, Guardians and Families,

Today the Acting Premier has announced a further 7-day circuit breaker (Lockdown) for Victoria to continue to address the recent COVID-19 outbreak. As a result, based on advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, all metropolitan Melbourne Schools (with the exception of Yr. 11 and 12 students enrolled in VCE or VCAL unit 3 and 4) will continue remote and flexible learning (Learning at Home) including Specialist Schools.

Victorian schools will continue a period of remote and flexible learning from Friday 4th June (at this stage) until Thursday 10th June inclusive. Friday 11th June is our Report Writing Day and Monday 14th is the Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday. Therefore all going well and to plan, we look forward to welcoming all staff and students back at school on Tuesday 15th June.

We have finalised another one-week hard copy pack and these will be delivered by bus to students who use the transport service tomorrow afternoon. We are currently awaiting guidance from the Department as to how we can ensure delivery or collection of home learning packs to students who are brought to and from school by their parents. This pack provides continuity of learning building on the current Learning at Home pack, with a focus on differentiated literacy and numeracy tasks and science experiments.

In addition to this, daily online learning will continue to be provided through your child’s Seesaw account.

The existing arrangements and process for onsite supervision remain in place and the school is communicating with families that fall within these categories to ascertain alternative care arrangements and the need for onsite attendance.

Please look after yourselves, we understand the challenge that these announcements present and are always here to support you. We are looking forward to seeing staff and students back onsite and again I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your ongoing support, patience and persistence.

Take care and stay safe.

Kind regards,

Nicole Edwardes

Principal
