Term 3 Update – 9.08.21

Dear Parents, Guardians and Families,

I hope this letter finds you safe and well, in what continues to be a challenging time for you, your family, children and our community. Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment to keeping the community safe as we experience Lockdown 6.0. You will have heard today there is an easing of restrictions for regional and rural Victoria, with schools in these areas only, returning to onsite face to face teaching and learning tomorrow.

Metropolitan Melbourne however remains in Lockdown with learning at home continuing until Thursday 12th August. We will await announcements on Thursday 12th August and remain hopeful that we will all return to onsite face to face teaching and learning on Friday 13th August. We hear these announcements at the same time as you, and as always, will await DET guidance and inform you as soon as possible about any implications of the announcements made.

As an outcome of this most recent lockdown, our scheduled Curriculum Day for Wednesday 11th August will be postponed until later in the term. The Deputy Secretary of Education has strongly recommended that schools consider when their curriculum days are scheduled in view of lockdowns. Our focus will remain on providing continuity and consistency for our community in commencing remote routines. With forward planning, we were able to achieve this on Friday via Seesaw as well as providing hard copy learning at home packs. Once we have rescheduled the presenters for the Curriculum Day, and have a date, we will be sure to communicate this via our newsletter. We thank you for your continuing support in allowing us to achieve this high level of support for your child(ren).

Looking after ourselves, and one another, is key to being able to best support our families, students from our school and our children that attend other school settings. Our health and wellbeing are key to enabling us to support others.  Here are some links to a variety of resources you may find useful.
